Arun LOL

- that was not an easy catch by any stretch of imagination
- once its new, the white ball does move
- I dont know why Agarkar has been given the new ball, he bowled well in the middle order
-looks in a great touch
- At the end of the third ODI, Arun Lal comes up with this:
Pakistan should now win any one or atleast both.

Deduct-jectives!

My vocabulary is not a handful...I usually have limited adjectives in my armory and keep using the same words.. but having watched the cricket match, and having heard the commentaries from Rameez Raja, Arun Lal, and Sivaramakrishnan, I feel I am way better ;)

Anyway some cool adjectives I dont want to add to my list

Beautifully done (done is copyrighted by Arun Lal)
Wonderfully well (well is copyrighted by Rameez, borrowd by prez mush)
Wonderfully done
Beautifully well
onederful blow indeed
onederful shot indeed (indeed is also copyrighted by Arun Lal)
Magggggggg.... Niiiiiiiiiii... Fiiiiiiiii... Cent (copyrighted by Siva.. this word would be completed by him only when the ball is already retreived from the boundary)

This list will be duly added as and when I remember more wonders and beauties
But in this series, while the team batting second has suffered mostly, the team bowling first has always driven the team to an advantageous position...

Javagal Srinath, he only possible!

Math Destruction!

Though you get million forwards in a day, certain ones are pretty good.. my only criteria, is that it should be not be too long, and should not take more than couple of minutes, and has to make me laugh ;) This one did! Also Sentis are not allowed

At New York's Kennedy airport today, an individual later discovered to be a public school teacher was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a setsquare, a slide rule, and a calculator.

At a morning press conference, Attorney General John Ashcroft said he believes the man is a member of the notorious al-gebra movement. He is being charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction.
Al-gebra is a fearsome cult," Ashcroft said. "They desire average solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a search of absolute value. They use secret code names like 'x' and 'y'
and refer to themselves as 'unknowns', but we have determined they belong to a common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country. As the Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, 'there are 3 sides to every triangle'."

When asked to comment on the arrest, President Bush said, "If God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, He would have given us more fingers and toes".

Take a bow to King Federer!

Wanted to blog about this earlier, but did not get a chance..
I stayed up till 3 am to watch the Australian Mens Open finale..and it was worth it.. Baghatis, was the crowd hero! With the white and blue Cyprian stripes ruling the roost..The crowd was boisterous, noisy and infact intimidating at times..

But not for the king!

He started of nervously, got broken in the second service game, broke back.. At 5 all, he lost his serve again, and eventually the set. At times, it looked as if he was disinterested playing at all.. Down a break again in the second set, Federer decided to up the gears.. He moved from 2nd gear to 3rd, but was far away from his best..Still fighting himself, not Baghdatis, at 5 all, upped the tempo, to steal the set.

Then he came into his own! The 3rd set was just sublime!!! 12 games in a row, 6-0 in the third, and 3-0 in the 4th. That period of tennis was just unfair. A mere mortal like Marcos, was made to fight God himself. The ease, the finesse, the beauty, the not-to-fussy approach, Federer was right amongs them all!

Federer, the champ, provided just a glimpse of his awesome talent. There was a time when Dravid said, in the off-side, there is god, and then there is ganguly. Now in tennis, there is Federer and then there is god!
